The Problem

The European Union Waste Directive requires 60% of plastic packaging to be recovered or recycled by 2008. In the UK alone the estimated volume of waste is 3m tonnes per annum, of which only 250,000 tonnes is currently recycled to produce bin-liners, garden furniture and other products, which eventually re-enter the waste stream. This is only one aspect of the waste plastic problem.

The Solution

A typical ETS plant processes 8,200 tonnes of mixed waste plastic per annum. This will produce over 6,000 tonnes of fuel (over 1.5m gallons). At 8,200 tonnes per annum capacity an ETS plant can be located where the waste plastic arises. This avoids the need to transport waste over long distances.

Low capital cost enables profitable plant operation
